I have never been here and don’t know much about this place other than it is nice and trails have been extended- so we will have a fun adventure!
FURTHER UPDATE: Directions to the trail:
The road to get to the trail is the intersection of the gamelands access road (identified as Transis Camp Road on most map tools) and near 8904 Farrington Mill Road, Durham, just inside Durham County. There is a “Gamelands” sign on the opposite side of the road from the Transis Camp Road turn. The trailer parking lot is approximately 1 mile down Transis Camp Road, on your left. The trail is in the far corner as you enter the parking lot.
We will need to check the FB page regarding rainfall/closure a couple days prior to the ride date.
** YOU WILL ALSO NEED A GAMELAND PASS if you do not have an NC hunting license- (https://www.eregulations.com/northcarolina/hunting/privilege-licenses-stamps-certifications)
**Jordan Lake also has FB page: https://www.facebook.com/jltca
I understand parking is free
There is large gravel in parking lot and second loop has several spots with gravel so would consider boots if your horse is barefoot.
If the water level is too high, we will have to go somewhere else.
Tailgate style Breakfast to follow.
These are formal exercise walks for the hounds, for those who do not wish, or are unable, to walk up to 2 miles in about 30min, I encourage you to come out and enjoy the breakfast and spend time with us in the kennel after the hounds exercise.
