Communications
Chair: Lauren Spillmann
Mission: to streamline various pieces of hunt communications under a unified umbrella. Includes but is not limited to website, text reminders, social media, etc. This committee will be responsible for keeping communications up to date, entertaining and informative. We need people who enjoy writing, photography, and are willing to submit pre- and post- event content, reports, and other interesting items for publication. If this is you, we need you on this committee!
Hunt school
Chair: Paula Nelson
Mission: to produce an educational series of activities that lead interested people from introduction to actually hunting. Time Frame: usually Sundays in September prior to the start of cubbing. If you would like to help develop an engaging curriculum, promote the sport to newcomers, and share your knowledge with others, we need you on this committee!
Membership
Chair: TBD
Mission: to assimilate new members into the hunt via mentoring. This committee will help new members become fully integrated into the Sedgefield Hunt family, and will serve as a primary point of contact for basic hunt questions. If you are willing to help new members as they transition into the club, we need you on this committee!
Merchandising
Chair: Sandy Dunbeck
Mission: to promote, produce and sell hunt logo attire and other merchandise. If you would like Sedgefield swag, (shirts, vests, whatever) and are willing to produce fun things to be available for purchase, we need you on this committee.
Operations Committee
Chair: Paula Nelson
Mission: to streamline & clarify operations into a sustainable future plan. Review existing operating procedures, revise or develop procedures to address various issues and concerns. If you are a detailed individual with HR or corporate administration background, we need you on this committee.
Performance trials
Chair: Jan Sorrells
Mission: to put on best performance trials.
Social (not for profit events)
Chair: Christiane London
Mission: to take charge of all the fun activities of the hunt. To coordinate a series of social activities year-round to keep members engaged and active. Should not necessarily be considered fund raisers but must be self-supporting. Organize stirrup cups for special occasions, pot luck meals for meetings, parties for fun, etc. Mounted activities might include day rides and weekend trips. Organize members going to joint meets to ensure our share of social obligations are met. If you enjoy the fun stuff, we need you on this committee.
Special Events
Chair: Jan Sorrells
Mission: Specifically tasked with developing additional fundraisers. Possibilities might include a hunt ball, wild game dinner, hunter pace, poker ride, parties that are intended to earn profit, etc. Each event will have its own sub-committee. This is primarily a fund-raising committee. If you are forward thinking and can project manage to reach big goals, we need you on this committee.
Trail clearing (all members are expected to participate, but this committee plans the work needed):
Chair: Fred Berry
Mission: to facilitate movement across territories via jumps, gates, trails, bridges as needed for staff and members. To liaise with landowners for scheduling and permissions. Time Frame: Saturdays in September and as needed throughout the season.
